FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Here are some of the most commonly asked questions I’ve received regarding Pilates and my work. If you don’t find the answer you’re looking for, please contact me. I will get back to you as soon as possible.

WHAT TYPES OF HOME FITNESS EQUIPMENT DO YOU RECOMMEND?

All you really need is an area about the size of your mat plus space around it for movement.  A bottle of water nearby is a good idea.  Other Pilates equipment can include:  hand-held weights, balls of variable sizes, a foam roller, a hand-held wheel, physiotherapy bands, and a hand-held barre to help with stretching and form.

WHAT IF I HAVE NEVER DONE PILATES BEFORE?

Everyone is welcome, from absolute beginners to experienced practitioners. Pilates is a great way to get back into exercise if you've been out of the game for a while. Whatever exercise you have or haven't done before, come along and try a session.  You'll be amazed how quickly you get the hang of it!

WHAT IF I HAVE A PRE-EXISTING CONDITION?

Consult your doctor before you begin this or any exercise programme.  Let me know any concerns you may have about your health and well-being.  We will work together so that you feel good before, during and after each session.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME?

Just bring yourself and your mat.  I maintain a policy of no shared equipment in any of my classes, and all equipment is sanitised after each session. Over time, we recommended that you purchase your own equipment and bring it with you to the class.

WHERE DO YOU TEACH?

A lot of my classes are at local gyms and spa facilities in Surrey. Pilates and Reformer classes can be attended by members or guests at: David Lloyd Woking, David Lloyd Brooklands, Foxhills Country Club, St. Georges Hill Lawn Tennis Club, The River Bourne Club, Nuffield Health at Stockley Park and Snap Fitness in Addlestone.

CAN I ATTEND A CLASS WITHOUT MEMBERSHIP?

Yes. Drop-in classes are available at the River Bourne Club in Chertsey, where pay-as-you-go sessions for Reformer and Stretch & Define are available to book via the River Bourne Club website. Drop-in Reformer classes are also available to guests visiting Foxhills Country Club. Enrolment is via the Spa Reception or Foxhills website.
